Lot Traceability From Manufacture to Bench

A lot number is a chain, not a sticker

Traceability means a reviewer can walk from a chromatogram to a vial to a pipette step without guessing. That only works if the same identifier appears on the COA, the label, the packing list, and the lab’s inventory sheet. If any link uses a different code, stop and reconcile before the material enters a time-course.

Receiving checklist

• Compare package contents to the packing list
• Photograph labels if your SOP requires incoming inspection
• File the COA under the same lot ID you enter in LIMS or a notebook
• Place vials into qualified storage and record location
