Audit trails need public, lot-specific files
Procurement and quality groups cannot file a screenshot from a members-only drop. They need a certificate that names a lot, a method, and a date, plus a supplier who will confirm that file against an invoice. Closed communities, password shops, and “ask for the menu” models often fail that test even when the marketing sounds scientific.
Open catalogs are not automatically high quality—but they can be reviewed. You can compare COAs, shipping terms, and RUO language before a PO is issued. That is the difference between a reagent vendor and an informal reseller.
